I have a special memory of the Annual Gala, which I attended for years until I moved out of state in 2007. I enjoyed the social aspect of seeing my fellow widows, especially from other agencies such as the NYPD and FDNY. There are not any other joint agency survivor events to attend, and it truly has had intangible results: lifetime friendships forged.
