Internships

Throughout the year, we provide internship opportunities for exceptional college students to experience being part of our team and to help us in our efforts to assist our families. Description

Answer the Call is seeking highly-motivated, detail oriented, and ambitious students to remotely assist its Development Staff in planning, promoting, and executing upcoming virtual events, campaigns, and initiatives. Interns can expect to gain experience in special event planning, donor relations, social media marketing, and general nonprofit management. The ideal candidate would be able to commit to approximately 8-12 hours of remote work per week. We encourage our interns to attend, and help us setup/run, our events that take place during the course of their internship. Dates/times are flexible, as well as internship start and end dates, and can be arranged around the selected student’s schedule.

Responsibilities

Interns will assist the Answer the Call staff with:

  • Developing content for our blog and social media channels
  • Conducting phone interviews with supporters of our organization
  • Participating in web editorial, marketing, and social media campaign brainstorming
  • Special event planning, management, and execution
  • Creating and executing marketing strategies for fundraising campaigns and other program initiatives
  • PR outreach efforts for upcoming events and campaigns
  • Working on research projects to help us better understand the demographics and needs of the families we are helping

Qualifications

As this is predominantly a remote position, all applicants must have their own working computer to perform this internship. The ideal candidate is a bright, mature, and detail-oriented self-starter pursuing their undergraduate degree, who is creative and eager to learn. Additional qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency in and access to MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Personable and professional demeanor
  • Responsible and sensitive to confidentiality issues
  • Knowledge of social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Instagram
  • Detail-oriented personality
  • Commitment to our mission
