Madison Capria first found her love for endurance sports as a competitive swimmer in college. After graduation, she wanted to find a new way to stay active and maintain her cardio fitness, which led her to running. Since then, she has completed two half marathons and is excited to take on the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon!
As she prepares for race day, Madison knows her biggest challenge will be the distance, but she is ready to push herself and embrace the challenge. When training gets tough, her mindset is simple: giving up is not an option. That determination helps her stay focused and keep moving forward one mile at a time.
While Madison has teammates who will also be participating in the race, they will likely be running at different paces, so she expects to complete most of the course on her own. Outside of running, she enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and balancing life around work.
When it comes to music, Madison likes to switch things up. Some days she listens to slower, more emotional songs, while other days she prefers to run without music and simply enjoy the experience.
Madison first learned about Answer the Call through a friend who previously ran with the organization. She was inspired by the mission and the support Answer the Call provides to families of fallen first responders and was eager to get involved.
After crossing the finish line, her ideal post-run meal depends on the time of day. In the morning, she enjoys an egg and cheese sandwich, while a plate of pasta is her favorite choice later in the day.
