Meet our 2025 TCS NYC Marathon Team: Sarah Milewski

Sarah Prochniak Milewski is excited to be running the TCS New York City Marathon this fall with Team Answer the Call!

Sarah began running at a younger age, participating on a track team, but not as a distance runner. In recent years, Sarah has completed 5ks, 10ks, and a half marathon, and wanted to have another goal to reach towards, which brought her to the New York City marathon.

Living in a rural area of Pennsylvania, Sarah has had trouble navigating where to do her long runs at times. The road she lives on is not feasible for running, which has allowed her to explore new trails out of her neighborhood. Sarah noted finding new trails has been exciting but is difficult timing-wise, especially when some destinations are 30 to 40 minutes away.

When finding a great trail for her long run and to keep going on the tougher days, Sarah enjoys reflecting on the videos of people she has seen who have already run the marathon—reminding herself how rewarding it’s going to be when she does it. However, if that thought isn’t enough to keep her going, listening to “Empire State of Mind” is sure to do it. Sarah imagines playing it when she crosses the finish line, and what an amazing moment that will be.

Sarah’s father is a retired Baltimore City Firefighter and her husband is an Anne Arundel Firefighter and Paramedic. They’ve both heavily influenced Sarah’s life and her heart for first responders. Sarah shared, “I know I could never be the person to respond to an emergency with a calm presence. It takes a special person to do that, and to see such unimaginable sights and handle yourself calmly, they deserve all the support and care in the world.” We are so appreciative of Sarah’s love for the first responder community and her support of Answer the Call.

We are excited to watch Sarah run for Team Answer the Call this November!
