Katherine Wallace started running at just nine years old, following in her mother’s footsteps. She began competing in track in school and has loved running ever since. While she has completed several half marathons, the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon will be her first full marathon.
As she prepares for race day, her biggest challenge will be learning how to run a new distance. Having never trained for a full marathon before, she knows the journey will push her both physically and mentally. During long runs, she reminds herself how fortunate she is to be able to run and focuses on how rewarding it will feel post-run.
Outside of running, Katherine works full-time in finance, while pursuing a part-time MBA at NYU. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, working out at Greenwich Village Athletic, and learning how to play golf. She first learned about Answer the Call after attending the organization’s Annual Gala several years ago. The mission and impact of the organization stayed with her, inspiring her to run and fundraise in support of the families Answer the Call serves.
Her running playlist usually includes pop and country music to keep her motivated throughout training. Looking ahead to race day, she believes mile 22 will be the toughest, but she’s determined to push through. After crossing the finish line, she plans to celebrate with her friends and family – and maybe with some ice cream!
