Mourning the Loss of FDNY Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman

The N.Y. Police and Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund mourns the loss of FDNY Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman.

We are incredibly heartbroken to share the line of duty death of FDNY Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman.

Paramedic Abdur Rahman served New York City as a paramedic for more than two decades. A dedicated member of the FDNY, his distinguished service spanned the entire city from Harlem to Lower Manhattan.

At just 46 years old, Abdur Rahman tragically leaves behind a wife and three children. His passing is a tremendous loss for his family, the FDNY community, and all of New York City.

At Answer the Call, we honor the legacy of our fallen heroes by standing with the people they loved most—their families. In this time of profound sorrow, we will be providing Abdur Rahman’s widow with initial checks totaling $65,000. Our goal is to then support her with an annual stipend (currently $11,000) for the rest of her life.

We promise to never forget Paramedic Abdur Rahman’s ultimate sacrifice and pledge our support to his beloved family.

Sincerely,
The Board of Directors and Staff of Answer the Call
