Meet Our 2023 TCS NYC Marathon Team: Tyler Levin

As a New York law enforcement officer himself, Tyler Levin knew he wanted to find a charity he could “personally connect with” after deciding to run the TCS NYC Marathon. With both his stepfather and best friend in the law enforcement field as well, joining Team Answer the Call seemed like a no-brainer.

Though this is Tyler’s first time running a marathon, he considers himself to be a highly active person. The former college basketball player describes his journey with running as a surprising one since his coaches used running as a punishment.

Tyler’s biggest challenge while training for his upcoming race has been reframing running to be enjoyable, and finding the time to do that. He says that a cause such as Answer the Call makes this change in mindset easier, since Tyler shares that he “wanted to feel proud to run” and feels very passionate about the first responders who serve each and every day. He uses this as motivation to continue training!

In his free time, Tyler enjoys golfing, pickup basketball, and HIIT classes. He often spends his weekends with his two younger sisters, who are also about to start their college athletic careers.

Between Tyler’s family members and the entire Answer the Call Team, there will certainly be loud cheers as he crosses the finish line this November!
