After losing her father at just 17 years old, Nicole found healing in running. She completed the New York City 2021 Marathon and decided that her next marathon would be for charity. Shortly thereafter, she discovered Answer the Call and felt a deep connection to its mission. She appreciates that Answer the Call can provide relief to families of fallen first responders.
As she prepares for the marathon, Nicole knows that balancing her training with social plans, as well as running in the heat and humidity, will be her biggest challenge. However, she stays motivated by reminding herself of the other tougher challenges she’s faced in the past. Running helped Nicole navigate the hardest period of her life, and often reflects on those experiences to push through tough runs, knowing she’s stronger than what her mind might tell her.
