Quotes & Testimonials

Every cloud has a silver lining When my husband, a Lieutenant of FDNY was injured in an arson fire and died 45 days later in the summer of 1994, that statement seemed absurd to me. I had three young children ages 7,9 and 12 to raise on my own. However, over the years the Benefit Fund has certainly become my Silver Lining.

I am a senior now and have been a Fire Department Widow all of my adult life. I have raised 5 children alone and now have a family of 11 grandchildren and two great grand children. I am filled with fond memories of my late husband and the brotherhood of firefighters who loved their job. They are family men who are filled with loyalty, compassion, giving time to their community and country. I am filled with gratitude for the City of New York and its citizens, thank you , thank you, for your love, compassion and generosity.
